I've just purchased an 8" dayton dvc and 100w plate amp to put in a .5 cu.ft. box i already have. It would be a front-firing ported enclusure. However, I've been reading about uses of sonotube and was wondering if I could use a segment of sonotube to (seriously) extend my box volume, say, like this.
Would this cause any weird problems? I have modeled it in WinIsd and graphs look good. I would be downfiring instead of front firing. Is a 5.2% sag acceptable? Am I just some math and a couple feet from a TL? Would an 8" driver be acceptable for a small TL using 8" diameter sonotube. Some advice would be helpful as I am very new to this. Powered Sonotube TL? |

Usually 5% sag is the limit, so I guess it would be ok...
A TL with a 8" driver? Many people do that.
