Vent Length

I'm a newbie to winisd but I was messing with a box for the TB sub up on the PE home page and for a vented box it wanted a vent length of 11 feet. Whats up with this?

Small enclosure size + large vent area + low tuning frequency = stupidly long port.

It's one of the things you have to compromise on when you design any enclosure.

Yes, large enclosure will shorten the vent alot. If you use a smaller port area, for example a 2" diameter instead of a 4" diameter, it will shorten the vent alot too.

You can also use a passive radiator in a small box, then you bypass all those stupid problems for a small box that you want to go vented instead of sealed. No vent noises either.
