I know these will be a super simple questions for someone who knows the answer; at what frequency will my two subwoofers start to act as a line array and get an efficiency boost if they are X feet apart? Do I have to worry about any comb filtering or any nasty effects like that? are two subs better than one in terms of room interaction and imaging?
Thanks |

Supposedly two drivers complement eachother best if kept within 1/2 wavelength at crossover frequency. Calculate wavelength using speed of sound / frequency.

The subs will couple when the distance between them is half the wavelength or less.
When positioned correctly 2 (or more) subs should yeild a smoother response than one. |

awesome, thank you so much.
So fi i space them at ten feet, I should get a boost at around fifty hertz. I plan on using reletively small boxes F3 around thirty, so this should help. Of course I suppose at those frequencies the sound in my room will look like the sruface of a kiddie pool so... Thanks for the help. |
