In light of my other thread, can you guys pass on some good subs for a car audio-type IB install that woudl be priced similar to the Dayton DVC's at Parts Express ($105ea) that woudl outperform them? I have enough power options on hand, so an amp isn't an issue. I'd like a large sub (15 or 18) just for 'ooh factor' and added cone area. Is there anything out ther that would be better for me for the same price?

I think it's your best bet. For price/performance nothing will beat that.
If one is not enough, go with two. 18" are too pricey.

I haven't seen too many 18" car subs (actually not sure I've seen them at all!) I'd think a larger number of smaller subs would be more impressive as power handling will go further - swept volume being less of an issue.

The infinite baffle sub from Dayton is the IB, not DVC.

We know that, but the DVC is only 7$ more, with smaller Vas, more wiring options, more efficient and more Xmax.
