Glad it sounds better with the stuffing. Did you do part or all of the line?

I wouldn't recommend rockwool for speakers unless you can wrap it in something like cheesecloth. The basalt based insulation I have worked with have too much "dust" coming off of them, especially at the cut lines.

Re cals note re rockwool and cheese cloth. You can always wrap speaker rather than stuffing. Its easier.
Cheese cloth may be a bit open weave. A light cotton cloth, (old sheet, shirt or whatever) will do as no treble to worry about.

The stuffing seems to help extend the low end too, the very deep notes now can keep up with the rest...
