I ran across the Jensen Transflex which looked interesting to use as sub. It looks like it's just a TL with the direct radiation and terminus output coming from the same location. They seem to claim push/pull benefits. Is this design something useful or just an outdated design?

IMHO it's no improvement on a standard TL, it will suffer from higher frequency bandpass resonance due to the un-necessary choice of having the driver loaded in the opening rather than direct radiating on the outside.
The claimed push/pull benifits are non-existant. (marketing speak) |
