I am looking at adding some bass drivers to Visation B200's on an OB.

I would like the bass drivers to be OB (or H/U frame).
I hope to get down into the 30's with drivers that can keep up with the Visaton's.

I am thinking of 1 x 15" or 2 x 12". The 12's would be in an H-frame.

I came up with the following:
Dayton 15" IB

Dayton 12"

HiVi 12"

Peerless 12"

Any thoughts on these (or others)??

The Qts on the 15" Dayton looks appealing.

Thanks in advance . . .

Keep in mind with Qts that higher is not always better. Linkwitz talks about this and how the low Qts of the XLS is actually easier to eq.

How high are you crossing it?

I'd be looking for:

* driver is useable up to 120 Hz or even higher (a lot of subs don't sound good above 40 Hz)
* high VD
* drivers with a flat BL curve (OB will routinely use more excursion so excursion related distortion should ideally be low) - more important than with a vented LFE sub.
* low turbulence with high excursion

XLS is a safe bet on all counts

I'd consider 12" or 15" drivers like the new XBL drivers from Acoustic Visions

Consider push-pull mounting which in some ways is a bit like getting "free shorting rings"

Rythmik audio kit would also be interesting. Probably his direct servo kit and three extra drivers.
