I don't want one more classic design with Peerless XLS 12" ?
is it possible ? I would like to build myself a sub and I wouldn't like to have a wish to change it after a month... I have some kind of limitations where i live (Country is good only for a holliday so far Peerless XLS 12" seems interesting. However,at one place for 400 eur i can get the 'speaker'+passive radiator while on the other place i get 2 'speakers' for the same price... ( on a sec. there I thought about XXLS+passive but same Xmax ,higher Fs and lower Bl for something that is better unit got me confused...anyway I think two 'weaker' ones like XLS are better then that combo ) It isn't a big dillema becouse on the first look that second option (2 drivers) seems the way to go it terms of long term investment. but all projects on the net what I was looking were with 'speaker'+passive radiator so I'm stuck at some way.... part of me thinks how it will be foolish not to use some design what i know it works and part of me don't wants one more tipical box design for Peerless XLS 12" .... First I was thinking to use something like Behringer EP-1500 + some active stuff for powering it but I'm not a fan of that cooling and as I thought to use the drivers in "one box" it seems nicer and easier to use some plate amp... but then I thought about parallel conection and on Hypex DS 4.0 but I'm not shure will that be enought power and more important can amp hold parallel conection of drivers to it... So far one friend are talking me into use the drivers with some push-pull box design becouse it's only box design without fault for him where 2 decen't subs can work much better then one great one I guess some of you know WinISD and BaxBoxpro better then palm of your hand so I would like to hear some ideas how to use 2 drivers best... and some numbers tu put in WinISD so that I don't need to 'poke' around |

I would go XLS12+ PR if I must have a tiny ported box.Otherwise Id go for other 12"s that require a larger box,but not require a PR.
Note that the XLS12 has a flux shorting ring for lower distortion - Not all subwoofers have this. Mike.e |

well, thing is that from one store here i get XLS for 250 eur and PR for 140eur and in other store i get 2 x XLS for the same amount of money so i consider that a better option
I like working on project when i know the outcome and how it will turn out....and there is some good pages on the net regarding Peerless XLS but they are all with XLS + PR (or XLS+active eq.) so if want to use 2 x XLS without PR i need to "invent something" for myself and the scary part is that i don't know how it will turn up so I would want to know what configuration would be best to use 2 drivers ...to get something with Hypex DS 4.0 (400w@4Ohm).... as distortion is higher with ported boxes and that is why are PR's out there I was thinking about ported thing and push-pull but i need some numbers to compare this and that and becouse of it we come back on the start-it's not a known project but still i don't want one more 'classic' Peerless box design |

I wonder, if you have thought about this one yet:
