I have a 8" woofer that was in a Mirage M1 speaker from the late 80's, the speaker it's self was quite highly regarded and went quite low. So anyway I don't know a thing about the woofer. The subwoofer would be for music only in a second system upstairs used in conjunction with some bookshelf or small floorstanding speakers. I think a forward or down firing ported sub would be best with this woofer, but I really don't know. Size doesn't really matter within reason 1.5-3ft cubed. Is there any place that will tell me exactly what to build, I need alot of help here please.

If you know what size the enclosure was that the driver came out of, just make a new one of the same size.

That is hard to say because the Mirage speaker is a biploar type one woofer facing the front and the other to the back, each in their own chamber and I don't own the speakers anymore. Would it be better to be in a larger enclosure? All the threads on small woofers point toward the smallest enclosure possible, would it work better in a larger box, more reponse and lower frequency?
