im SUPER NEW to car audio or even regular audio systems: my question is what would it do if i hooked up my DUAL 12" inch subs to my cd player in the house?? and the sterio says 6 ohms and my subs are 4? what would that do? -thanks and im sorry im so stupid with speakers.

It would probably work, but when you turn it up, the amp would heat up, and possibly blow fuses or the output transistors/chips.
My friend did that with a mini-hifi system. When he turned it up, all the lights on it would dim. It worked for a while, but he ended up blowing the fuses. |

If you keep the volume low it will work, but it won't be loud enough so yeah, don't do it!
