Question about port tuning

Hi, Just another question about port tuning.I know that when port is too long or too short, the bass will be weak or boomy. But my question is . Is this happen on all the frequency all the way to the crossover cut off or this happen only at the port tuning frequency i.e. if the port is too short the bass will be boomy, is this happen just at the tuning freq
.I have speaker with 15" eminence omega pro woofer and cut off at 150Hz.If I made the port longer, is the bass will be less boomy just at the port freq or it will less boomy all the way at the 150Hz freq cut off.

It will affect all the frequencies, but it will affect more the sound around the tuning frequency, and the further you go from the tuning point, the sound will be less affected.

By making the port longer the fs of the port will drop, but so will the effeciency for a given enclosure.
When the port is too effcient you will get a hump in the frequency response which may be described as boomy sound.

Another option to get a less boomy sound, is to cross the Omega at a lower frequency, <100 Hz for best results.
