Is anyone interested in a high efficiency subwoofer?
I've written a paper that shows how to make a extremely compact subwoofer with high efficiency. It's not a bandpass, or a horn, but it's similar to both. Check out my article and let me know what you think. It's a free download of course. download the pdf file If you want to discuss any points in the article, my yahoo messenger id is j v a n o m m (remove the spaces.)

Tom Danley refers to horns as damped resonators. Although using resonant energy for our acoustic means may be abit sinful,I think theres a difference between BP4s and horns WRT response in the time domain, and ofcourse steady state distortion.
Interesting. Il take more of a look later. See hornresp for modeling horns - apparently it agrees well with the quarter-wave.com files. http://homepages.paradise.net.nz/sbk1/ssi.htm http://www.tandartsgroep.be/shootout/shootout.php |
