hey guys these daewoo subs on ebay look tops (apart from the daewoo logo all over them)

well ive never known this brand before....
SPECIFICATIONS:

* Max power = 1600 watts
* Aluminium diecast basket
* Classed as 12" (300mm)
* Wide (2") foam suspension
* Titanium aluminium centre cap (170mm)
* 2" voice coils
* Silver terminals
* 235oz magnet
* 2 x 4 ohm voice coils
* Mounting depth = 130mm
* Mounting hole diameter = 193mm
* Speaker wieght = approx 8.5kg (20lb's)

TECH STUFF:

* 89db SPDL (standard measurement - 1w 1m)
* "FS" (free air resonance) = 28hz
* "Qts" (total Q) = 0.5056
* "Qes" (electrical Q) = 0.5331
* "Qms" (mechanical Q) = 9.8241

is there some way of telling if these subs will perform well in either sealed or ported box?

ill be making a DIY box in my EB falcon in school(woodwork)

Max power is ussually rms-powerhandling x 4, so make it about 400 Wrms.

Still, without Xmax you don't know what power it can handle mechanically, so you would have to find out in practice.
Looking at magnetsize/thickness and Qts I would of course aspect it has a fairly large Xmax.

DAEWOO makes good cars and refigerators (and God knows what else ;)). If their speakers perform about the same, they won't be bad, but not special either.
