I have a pair of low Qts (0.27) 10 inch woofers, and I was thinking it would be fun to make some kind of bass horns with them. Unfortunately I don't have a full set of TS parameters. These woofers were cheapies, but they seem fairly good quality. How difficult would it be to design a resonably sized horn for them? The reason why I'm looking at horns is I'm attracted to their efficiency. Any pointers would be appreciated, thanks

I've tried this and I'm afraid I don't have the slightest clue on how to use it

Words to live by. Words we like to ignore. I used this thing this morning. Haven't done so in six months so I forgot how. So I broke down and read the manual. Well low and behold it is spitting out horn designs. There is an optimiser so that you don'y have to think to much.

Oh the trouble that I get myself in. I have a print of it in front of me. Yes it is not a walk in the park. If you are planning a corner horn don't worry about the ANG setting. The other important stuff is on page 4. You need to know the specs of the driver you are playing with. If you only know some there is a little thingie to help you calculate the rest by means of the computer. That is explained on page 7. The stuff you put into driver specs will work when you read page 8. Hypex designer will design your horn with a few clicks of your mouse.
Hope this helps. MArk

the program is extremely intimidating at first, but once you know its super slick!
Enter the driver parameters in the right order! Figure out how horns work first! http://www.diyaudio.com/wiki/index.php?page=basshorn http://www.volvotreter.de/ "downloads" |
