I once in my younger days purchased a 12 inch Radio Shack speaker and installed it in my new three way speaker cabinet because I was unsatisfied with the bass the 8 inch drivers were putting out.

It also had no bass. I couldn't figure it out. It was significantly weaker than the 8 inch speakers I had just replaced. And though not ideal the cabinet was large enough to get some working bass. THe speaker had some kind of a plastic cover over the magnet structure and when I took it off the motor assembly was so small it didn't look like it could drive a tweeter.

I notice that they didn't publish the Qt on your speaker. Probably because it was so high. While it's possible to get good bass from a high Qt speaker there is a point where the magnet and moter assembly are to weak to move that cone. I believe that you have been taken by a company that like Radio shack was selling some really inferior speakers.

Most of the quality speakers, even the inexpensive ones have proved themselves and are well known brands. A no name speaker can often be a imitation so poorly built that is of little useful value.

Aside from the fact that the speaker is in way too small a box the IC amp doesn't generate enough current to move that cone with such a weak magnet/motor assembly.

The 29 USD 12 inch DAYTON from Parts Express is probably quite a bit better for a budget speaker.
