I already searched and couldn't find to much on these:
http://www.aurasound.com/speakercomp...frameset2.html http://www.aurasound.com/pdf/NS3-193-8A.pdf Would these work well as a small sub or maybe some full range speakers? Maybe a Transmission line box? I have some money burning a hole in my pocket and I want to do a project with these. I like the 10 mm of peak excursion they have. http://www.realmofexcursion.com/vide...2-326-8A.1.wmv |

Check fullrange forum... its a 3" so its not really a subwoofer..
Another Aura NS3 PC Speaker Two new widerange drivers at madisound Anyone used Aurasound 3" NS3 widerange? If you want a small sub (5"), this would probably work better: http://www.tb-speaker.com/detail/1208_03/w5-1138sa.htm Or theres the 8" which is good: http://www.tb-speaker.com/detail/1208_03/w8-740c.htm |

Well the Aurasound driver does have loads of excursion, but it is crazy inefficient, and can only handle 20W, so I don't think you would get much bass out of it. As a midrange/full range paired with something else to cover the bass I'm sure it would be a well performing driver.

I built a pair that I use as PC speakers at work. I did give them whirl on my two channel music system and was very impressed with the amount of output. They are not very efficient but they can take some power. I believe they're rated to handle 80W peak which is more than many 3" drivers. Even 20W is more than most. I was playing them with my 35w/ch tube amp and they got pretty loud without distorting. Certainly more output than the 3" Tangbands with loads more bass. For a small personal stereo system they're excellent. I think they are a wonderful little driver and I very much enjoy listening to them. Highly recommended!

I think I'm going to use your dimensions for an enclosure for them. Mine will never look as nice as yours though.
lol My friend is thinking about buying some also and having me build him some boxes for them. Does anyone know of an inexpensive amp he could use? They would just be for casual listening with his iPod. |

Where can you buy those little 3"ers? Are they priced low enough for an array to make sense? 16 per side plus a supertweeter would make a great array.
