Thats the one, a car audio shop in canton, ohio (BV Mall) had one in there show room. the box it was in, was bigger than me. this around '96 or '97.

I have seen some very neat Audiobahn setups around. May I ask why you think thay suck?

I though they where a reasonable quality brand.

They sound bad and overrate their products into the stratosphere. At the price there is better solutions for any of their line.

It's very interesting to see people falling in love with those gigantic woofers. I've read quite a few "never go back" comments or the likes on these.

I myself had several chances to own EV 30W, but eventually gave them up, sadly.

Fostex FW800 and EV 30W are not really subs ??

Don’t get be wrong they are classed as woofers but it’s hard to explain until you fiddle around and experiment with them like sure it will do 30hz even lower. Ahh I don’t know how to say it like they don’t have much power compared to say the dd audio z series 18” or the sound stream XXX-18 18” which is supposed to be 10,000 watts rms (which are car subs and meant to be flogged) and compare them to one of those listed above they're not really designed to be hammered lol taking it to extreme

But still I have heard some setups hammer with speakers like CLS showed us in the link loads of crisp clean bass and that's impressive

Ehh, no not if you mean the Fostex
Those huge Fostex are genuine giant hifi woofers
Its useless for PA

And they are actually quite old
From the days when Fostex made their famous and expencive planars

You need either a very big closed box
Or mount it IB
Or OB
Its said to quite impressive
Though I have always thought of it as a joke, which it obviously is not
Just too expencive
