Subwoofers and vinyl records

I am aware that the dynamic range of compact discs greatly exceeds that of vinyl records; so I was wondering if adding a subwoofer to my system would really even be able to add any of the extra depth that a subwoofer would normally provide.

What is the overall dynamic range of an LP record, anyway?

Thanks,

Trevor

Hmm, funny how my turntable beats my cd player for 'dynamics' then. :D

Anyway, I use subs in my system, and yes even with vinyl they really add to my system. I listen to a lot of electronic music though, and that seems to have more low stuff than 'real' music.

If you go for a ported sub you'd maybe need a rumble filter. I don't use one with my sealed subs though.
