Default Splitter and plate amp strangeness...

I've got a Parts Express 240 watt plate amp hooked to a Quatro 15...

Did some rearranging in the Bunker, and noticed that I wasn't getting quite the output I had - Instead of the gain being turned 1/4 of the way, I had it at 3/4, and things sounded WEAK.

So, started playing.

Signal path is as follows:

Denon AVR 2803 to
Splitter to
"standard" stereo interconnect to
RCA to 1/4" adapter to
Behringer Feedback Destroyer to
1/4 " adapter to 25' sub cable to
splitter to
240 watt sub amp
Sub amp #2 daisychain connected via "standard" stereo interconnect. Red to red, white to white, doublecheck. Phase switches are on identical settings, but flipped one any to test - they're right.

Well, I pulled the BFD out of the path. Plugged the long sub cable into the back of the AVR. Still quiet - if anything quieter.

Some signal either way tho.

So, I pulled the splitter off the other end, plugged the sub cable in by itself.

Sound!

Added the BFD end of stuff back. Works fine.

Okay. Went upstairs, grabbed a splitter (that I know is functional), and put it back in the circuit at the sub end.

Back to original. And I know that splitter is good.

Any ideas?

I think there's maybe too many splitters?

Could you rephrase the signal path?

If I understand correctly, there's a receiver, sending a signal to a BFD, sending a signal to a subwoofer amplifier.

There's many subwoofers or only one?
