i just got a Sunfire True Subwoofer MkII for a rediculous price, it is about 5 years old, and so far I fricken love it. But I have not messed with room placement yet and I know I need to because I have one HUGE peak in the 60-80hz reigon ( I normally wouldn't have it running that high, but I am using it with tiny sattelites, 3" Tang bands to be exact), and it can make the bass sound almost monotone during certain parts of certain movies, because that peak sticks out so much.
I know this sub probably shouldn't be treated like others when it comes to room placement and all, so has anybody had any insights into this sub or heard of anything that might help me? |

You need to experiment with room positioning. What is your room layout and woofer position now?

Unfortunately it is pretty messy. About 14 x 25 ft. , with a small extension of about 7x10. I have it in the corner now because I just got it and remember hearing that they are kindof known for sounding good in corners. I DO, however, know the problems that corners can introduce.

Get that puppy out of the corner. According to my simulation program there is a broadish peak around 90Hz PLUS excessive standing wave energy regardless of listening position at 85-90. It's the old double whammy come in to bite you.
