Some poly is okay but it is generally thought that paper/fiber is better for a sub for a few reasons. It is better damped than poly and can be made thicker for increased strength without the mass of a similar poly. It also lacks the higher freq breakup modes of some poly cones when driven at high spl levels.

The cone is manufactured using the finest grade pulp reinforced with Kevlar fibers and sealed with a polymerized coating
It's treated paper, not polymer.
