ported box would be WAY better.... you can get the "wow" effect with two 8's in a ported box... lol that can be quite easily heard form half a block away.....

yes, and you'll need more woofer to even get the same dB output at lower frequencies.... and more power.. it will also depend very much on the woofers as to if they are really suited to a sealed box.... my friend has two of these: the box was sealed before he had time to go buy a port, the bass was there, BUT IT SUCKED!!! 90litre sealed, yea, too large really..... once it was ported, the bass is amazing for a couple of cheap 8inch subs... I still can't believe it actually... lol |

Hi Wingman
You know 8 inch units are better for tight quick bass, but you will need 12 if you want to make your life eaay, to get that big bass wave! I used 8's but the box size is to large and now adays 12 can run in 30 to 40 liters, I noticed you said you like tight bass, then a sealed box is better, what do you think of this Blob! |

Wingman, start by contacting
www.frequence.dk www.q-sound.dk www.danskaudioteknik.dk and see what they have available. Oh, if it were me, I would buy as many Peerless 10" or 12" XLS drivers as I could afford instead /U. |

Thanks for reply !
If i can´t get any 8" in a sealed box that will play low. then i need 4 10" in sealed box that will do it. I do not want XLS 10".

Wingman, dont you like scan speak? they can play quite low,
The peerless is a little to round sounding to me, its not a tight sound, in other words, i may be wrong, but that's just me. I think Vifa have a new woofer out that could be used for in car. If you want to see some interesting subwoofers, look here www.shadowworks.co.uk Just let me know what you think thats all. |
