New Tang Band W6-1139SC 6.5"

So the Tang Band W6-1139SC woofer is finally out. Has anyone had the opportunity to play around with their favorite loudspeaker software to see what application this driver would be good at?

In WinISD with it's default recommendations, an 11l ported enclosure tuned to 38Hz looks decent and great for a book shelf system. Perhaps great for the home offce? But what about tuning it lower using a linkwitz transform?

F3 of 40hz in a vented .4 cubic foot enclosure. Unfortunately, if you use a 2" diameter port, it needs to be 13" long.

I've been looking at small subs recently for a few projects and I was checking out the TangBand woofers. One thing I was wondering is if the Xmax listed on their web page is p-p or one-way? The excursions seem pretty good for the price point.

Anyone happen to know?

The X-max listed on Tangbands homepage is one-way. Thats little less than an inch of total linear excursion for that new 6.5-inch woofer.

The low efficiency makes it hard to use in any normal setup. Many other small woofers might be better due to higher eff. but the x-max is a plus at very low freqs.

For reflex it really needs a companion PR / ABR.

For sealed or 4th order bandpass its realy quite
impressive, regarding max low bass SPL capability.

Seems to be optimised for an 11 litre bandpass,
5.5L/3.5L front tuned to 70Hz, 100W of juice.

Has anyone thought of using them 4 per side as a small SW array? Might get the efficiency and speed needed as well as output. Any thoughts?
