Hi, I know that it is a two year late question but did you finally get some good results with that Faital 18XL1800 in that H-frame or any other OBconfiguration? Thank you!

I ended up substituting a different driver for the 18XL1800. The problem was excessive noise from the motor due to the built-in cooling channels and turbulence of air moving through them. Those are not a problem if the driver is in a box, but in an open application I felt it might be obtrusive. Too bad, since its a great driver IMO.

I plan to eventually use the 18XL1800 in a large box and EQ the low end but I haven't had time to work on that project yet.

FaitalPRO 18FH500 has a proper Qts for an OB. If you can live with lower sensitivity probably Dayton Audio UM18-22 is a good option as it has 22mm Xmax.
