I have used BK Electronics plate amps a number of years ago and have two under consideration.
I am trying to decide between these two,
BSBPV 500 Sub Bass Amplifier
or Extreme 1000 Sub Bass Amplifier
The plate amp of choice will power a largish sealed box subwoofer.
Which should I choose?

Depends on:
How much power do you need?
And the maximum input power of your bass drivers.
Indeed but sound quality is paramount, the bass drivers I will be using are capable of up to 1.2 KW programme, 4 ohm load.
Get in touch with BK and ask. I suspect they will say there is little to no inherent sound difference.
I wouldn't worry so much about the specifications being asked of you - buy the bigger one if the extra £100 isn't too much. You will have more options later, if you decide to use DSP.
Rarely do people complain about getting too much power for their subs.

If you go for the Extreme 1000, please let us know how you get on with it. I had an older 500w BK plate amp and thought it was good. Have been tempted by the bigger amp for a while. Contacted BKELEC for its 8 Ohm power output, and they said the Extreme would do 600W. Was considering 2 x Peerless XLS 10 wired in series on it.
