Hi,

I am nice midst of buying 4 8" subs which are cheap but still with good parameters,

Anyway, I don't have. Functioning pc so I can't simulate a nice box,

I wonder and hope that someone of you can take 15 minutes of your time and help a fellow diy'er out,

I would like to have a ported simulation and also sealed one, can anyone help me out? It would be very much appreciated as it is difficult building a sub without knowing the best volume or for example lenght if port.

As I'll buying for or them, and only listen to music such as electro, synth, reggae, rock and. Occasional rap, I want a transient fast sub, so sealed is probably the right way but I still wanted to see a ported version,

Here are parameters

4 Ohm

85 db spl

Xmax 12mm one way

Fs 38hz

Bl 9.07
Mh 1.78
Re 3.3 ohm

Qms 3.86
Qes 0.47
Qts 0.42

Vas 21.2 L
Sd 209
Mms 49.95
Cms0.35
Rms 3.0i kg/s

Can anyonde help me simjlxat6e a ported box and also a vented box?

I really really need the help as the boxes will be built this weekend, or at least started to be built then.

I will probably post a build thread so people can we the progress

So, fellow div sub lovers, please lend me a helping hand??

I'm asking for help from my Heart!!

Thanks in advance, fellow diy'er.e

Greets!

While Hornresp sims as usable up to ~250 W, the vent mach ideally needs to < ~17 m/s, requiring a Av = Sd, making the vent large enough to be a TL in size, length, so either needs to be a TQWT or use dual PRs.

For my records, what brand, model, power rating?

I'll use the simulator in my brain (no kidding).
~10-15L each for sealed. For vented use ~25L each, tuned to ~35Hz
If you can post here you can run an online calculator.

With such a low Vas and high xmax, you will have trouble fitting a properly sized vent in the box. You will need a 3-4" diameter vent (for each woofer so 6-8" diameter for all 4 sharing one box) and that will be long. If you can live with port noise you could make it a bit smaller, but flare the ends.

These are Car type subs, right? If it is for a car go sealed.

I only have a android pad that's working.. my pc is broken and that's why I ask for help.. if I had a pc I would have so listed myself obviously..

It is not a car sub.

It is listed as having 12mm Xmax and why couldn't it have that? Tang band 6,5" driver have 12mm Xmax for example, just that this one is less than half the price as one TB.

Bjorn, please explain further why it isn't possible for t the driver to have 12mm Xmax? Why should a reputable company post t/s parameters that isn't real?

I asked on another forum for help simulating and he came up with 28L at 30hz.
I post here to get more suggestions and also to see if others simulates are the same or very similar as different programs nice slightly different suggestions, and as mentioned, there aren't any simulation programs for android or would have done it myself.

The importer says he designed this driver as a better version or at least close to the Tang Band substitute for the TB model with the same model number.

You guys could either help me out with some simulations or call the driver trash.. The fact is, I only pay 300 Sep, it's 30€, 25£ or $.

It is cheap as f**k for a driver with that high Xmax.

They will all be built in separate boxes with slit port whit all info I've gathered a out slit ports, a small baffle where it ends in the box, rounded corners. A slit thats smaller at half way, the top and bottom of the slit will be curved slightly at each other.

There are very few slit port threads here so I'll start one, specialising on slits that's for those who
want to share ideas of the best possible design of a slit port. It'll be posted later today as all slit port info I scattered all over the forum.

So, with this driver I got 2 suggestions so far 25-30L @ 35hz and 28L@30hz.

Anyone else who's got an idea?

Not go, please explain yourself instead of bashing the driver without telling why

Bjorno, ill gladly measure the driver, if you lend mme your measurement equipment. Is tjat å deal?
