HI folks dumb question ahead........when building a cabinet......for a subwoofer...are screws recommended to whole the joints together???? or would glue alone do just as good.......if you need screws what type of screws to use and how far apart should i place them.......and what are some precautions to use while screwing

It is recommended to use only glue for a subwoofer.
When glueing it together I guess you could use screws to hold it then remove them later. But clamps would probably be better. Also make sure to use a lot of internal bracing. Like this: http://www.spatialsubwoofers.com.au/P6070045.JPG (the extra wood in the corners) |

What is wrong with using all three? Glue, screws, and clamps?

Shouldn't bracing be from one wall to the other opposite wall, to get a rigid structure?

There is Nothing wrong using all three. It just takes more time. For home use you can use glue only. However, if you are using your subwoofer on the road, all three methods would be best. I personally use all three methods.
