I have a jbl pb40 subwoofer that was given to me with a fried amp. It appears the driver is still in good condition. I don't want to repair the amp as it has a very sorted design history.

Should I replace the amp with a plate amp or just pull the driver and build a new box and get a new amp.

The amps I am considering are Dayton Audio SPA250 250 Watt Subwoofer Plate Amplifier or Yung SD300 300W Class D Subwoofer Plate Amplifier Module No Boost

I am new at this and open to options.
