I'm helping my brother build a sub. We want to use two vifa mg22w009-08 (8 1/2" drivers) in one sealed enclosure. The sub will be used to compliment a small set of dayton budgets I built for him a while back. Can someone give me their impressions of the vifa drivers and also the optimal internal volume for a sealed cubic enclosure. The final enclosure will look similar to the link below. If you are opposed to this drive maybe you could recommend one better in the $50 ea. price range that is suited for small sealed enclosure

How big of an enclosure were you talking about? What is the approximate internal volume?

the internal volume will be b/t 1.5 and 2.0ft3. I don't want to go much larger than 14" x 14" x14". I would like to use 2 drivers or 4 drivers, no larger than 10" and keep the driver budget under $200. The enclosure can be sealed or vented I have no preference. I will power the whole thing with a 250w plate from PE. This sub does not necessarly need to blow the windows out of my house. It will be used in smaller room to add some low end to a pair of book shelf speaker I built.
Any ideas? thanks a bunch |

The attached plot shows one Vifa driver in a 27 litre box (1cuft).
Sealed and port tuning 30Hz. Note for 2cu internal dimensions are ~ 15x15x15. sreten.
