Sub DSP recommendation

Dear all,

I am thinking to buy a DSP for subwoofer project. The requirements are:

1) Flexible low pass filter. Typical crossover option at 80HZ and below is fine; it will be better if it stretch a bit higher.

2) Subsonic filter for protection.

3) Bass boost. Graphic eq (or multiple EQ points) is even better.

4) Transparent and little loss in dynamics.

Any recommendations? (Including DIY project/groupbuy)

Buy a uMik at the same time as the MiniDSP, that'll keep you busy (and neighbours annoyed) for a while!

Hypex also has plate amps:

AS2.100 Digital 2x100W and the bigger brother PSC2.400d for 2x400W. There is an even bigger one but I don't think you need 2x700 W =)

They can all be bridged into one channel if you don't need two. If you don't need digital input they have analogue input only versions that are slightly cheaper.

I've owned my MiniDSP for some time now, its a 2X4 balanced with advanced plugins..... Using that along with my OmniMic is really amazing for the price...

4th for the minidsp. I used it when I had a pair of DTS-10's and it worked wonders.

I went the way of an ECM8000 and a Roland Quad-Capture for measuring though. A bit more expensive, but I wanted the extra flexibility to do other things with it.

Yup, the days of ploping down a sub, connecting it and hoping are gone. With even a $300 investment, you can finally see why it sounds so terrible, and why the two ton fishtank has to be moved, cause the sub sounds better there
