Default Klipsch sub12 cont.

Im on the fence, I tore apart my Klipsch sub12 because the power amp went out. the transformer is burned out so it isnt worth fixing. at this point would it be a good idea to simply get a 300w Bash amp from PE and replace the the one I have, or I found a 1.41 ft3 sealed enclosure and a Dayton 500w amp for a diy project. I was unable to find the driver parameters to put in to winISD and I dont want to spend $90 on software. any suggestions on the direction to go?

I would just get an amplifier from Parts Express and I would include a bag of this.http://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j...56146854,d.cWc

the internal volume measures out roughly at 2.6ft3, any suggestions with blocking the port with a foam plug for better control or would that diminish the sound quality?
