wiring up dvc subwoffers

I have recently bought 2 pioneer 12" dvc subwoffer(4 ohm for each coil)
There are always 2 ways to wire them up as net 4 ohm load.
1) coils in series and woffers in parallel( (4+4) || (4+4) = 4)
2) coils in parallel woffers in series ( (4||4) + (4||4) = 4)

Will there be any difference in quality produced or not?

4+4=8 series connection of two coils
4//4=2 parallel
so for 2 woofers paralleled coils then series connection it's 2+2=4
or // for each woofer so 2+2 series, still makes 4 Ω

The higher the resistance (numeric)
The more accurately will the coil move, not sure why but for me 8 ohm subs sounds worse then 4 ohm ones, maybe the only reason was my amp 20W at 2R 12V

Maybe just the translation, I understand that there's more distortion, generally speaking, with lower impedances.
