Default Need to recess driver in single sub ??

When using a single 12" driver in a sub box build is it necessary to recess the driver in the baffle???

From a technical standpoint no point at all at those wavelengths, it will not make any difference. Also the gasket will form the seal.
If you want to do it for cosmetic effect then that is something else.
