Chamfer inside a subwoofer baffle??

I know that conventional wisdom suggests that one should chamfer the cutouts on the mids and woofers for a loudspeaker, but should I also do the same on my subwoofer build?

My baffle is 1.5" thick with a deep recess to get the epic 10" driver flush. This leaves less than 3/4" of baffle that the driver will "see". My plan is to install some plywood blocks behind the screw holes for added meat when mounting and chamfer the baffle between them.

Does this sound right, or unnecessary in a subwoofer?
