Default Will this driver work???

Hi All. I have two nice cabs and two plate amps and have been waiting for drivers to fall into my lap. Well, I got two from a friend of mine the other day but even the manufacturer has no data on them. I do have WT3 and here is a screenshot for them. I don't really know how to enterpret WT3 results.

Do you think they will work in my 1 cu ft cabs?

Think you'll have to find Vas before you can determine volume. Unless they are 8's or smaller, probably will need more volume.

They are 12" drivers. I'll try to do the weighted VAS thing in WT3. I've never heard that it works well, but it might get me close.

Hi,

If you chose the Vas method be sure to correctly calculate the real Vb = Volume of the box with no air leaks - exact the Driver occupied volume.

The added 'mass' method is a much easier to get right and not that prone to 'user' errors that the Vas method is known from.

If you're very sure about the net volume you can always measure/calculate Qts by the height and width of the resonant peak and work back to Vas. The boxes already exist so no design there anyway. It might be the F3/Qts you wind up with that matters. You could just pop them in and run a sweep, see if you like the F3 and damping you get.

Thanks for your suggestions guys. I was just reading the WT3 lit and it looks like I can mount the driver in the box and get VAS that way. Is that what you were referring too Andrew???

Yeah except the woofer tester will probably keep you from having to make any hand measurements and a page full of calculations.
