Ok I am getting a fair amount of flack for trying out a pair of 15"s that sell for less than a single tire on my bicycle.
How about some recommendations for DIYers who can't get flagship drivers at dealer cost.
What are the best sub $100 15"-18" pro-sound bass drivers our there?

If I use those on this bike I am probably going to have a bad time.
Won't fit on this one!😱
But since my cost on CS tires is $5 I do use them on this bike.😀
I make my living as a bike mechanic and speaker building/live sound is my winter "hobby", investing in the SOA gear is not my top priority.
Parts express buyouts and MCM specials allow me to DIY and enjoy a microbrew afterwords. If I was providing a rig for national act DIY would not even be considered but the charity events I do are happy with whatever I bring.
Eventually I will build four of J-Bell's SS tapped horns then get another amp and driverack but that is going to cost me a bicycle.

Yes, and I do believe they go on sale starting Dec. 1st.

Yes, the new sales flier is up on Tech Talk.
Oh, and their is also a Black Friday discount that can also be used: 2015 Black Friday Coupons and Savings
Hmm, that pa385 would be under $150. I might have to get myself an early Christmas present.
Or two ....
If I wanted an early Christmas present, I'd want one (or two) of the more expensive drivers! Sub-$200 drivers are easy to justify, even without a special sale.
I don't suppose it's much different than "Look, honey! These boots were only $200! Look how much money I saved!"
