So can I build this with 15 mm Marine plywood if that's lighter, sound reflectors I can build with Arauco ply which all braces in my Tuba I am building are Arauco and very lightweight. Also Can I use a different Faital instead of the 1500XL. I need it to go down to 30Hz +/- 3dB indoors, plan to build 4 X 1819 subs, thanks!

Hi djlivex,

yes you can build TH_1819 with 15mm Marine plywood and I have simulated some different Faital 18-inch and also Faital 15-inch drivers and results were great to go down to 25Hz +/- 3dB outdoors, so indoors the results will be even much better.

Ok thanks! I know those drivers, which Faital can I use to get an average SPL of 105dB 1W/1M outdoors???:confused:THANKS!:)

Faital 15FH500 is great if you want low you loose on high SPL, cant have boath :) at 2,0 Pi (outdoors) 2,83V @ 1m; 20Hz-88,68dB; 25Hz-94,45dB; 30Hz-96,99dB at 0,5 Pi (corner indoors) 2,83V @ 1m; 20Hz-101,51dB; 25Hz-107,0dB, 30Hz-108,7dB which are very good results.

That's great when I finish my current project I will start on these. I am currently building a small 3 way with subs for up to 300 venues dance system. I have been looking around for a nice Tapped Horn to build on here including the Xoc or 35Hz Tapped Horn but this cuts the cake for low output, this may shake my furniture out of my house! LOL

Hi ZivkoF, what tops are those you have pictures in previous post? Are they DIY and what HF horn you're using, driver just curious. Will you be using this as 3-way for PA use and/or playback? Thanks!:)

HF is Neo Compression Driver BMS4540ND with 114 dB sensitivity @ 1W/1m :)

Thanks those are nice the BMS I guess can go lower crossed around 1.8kHz? Which 1" horn you're using and 12" driver just curious? Also since you've build one TH-1819 how is it coming along? I may use the Faital 18FH500 will build 4 subs initially, will let you know when I start!;)

It is 2-way system, mid bass driver is neodymium RCF_MB10N251 from 120 Hz - 3.0 kHz and BMS4540ND from 3.0 kHz - 26 kHz and TH_1819 is just perfect tonal blended in :)

Nice builds, can I also ask you I happen to download and print the 15mm and 18mm version of the TH1819 plans. I would like to make it lighter by using 15 Marine Ply or Baltic Birch I have not decided which one but looking at the plans there is a measurement between the panels on the bottom spacing between 2 panels is 100mm for the 18 mm version plans. Now the 15mm version plans do not indicate the space would it be 106mm since it is thinner ply (15mm sub) or would it be the same 100mm indicated on the 18mm version and make adjustments for thinner wood??? Thanks!

If you want the lighter and the stronger the best way would be 18mm Marine Ply which is ligter than 15mm BB. 18mm Marine Ply weight is 450kg/m3 (18mm MP for 1m2 weight is 8,1kg) and 15mm BB weight is 720kg/m3 (15mm BB 1m2 weight is 10,8kg) and you need for TH-1819 construction 6m2 (18mm MP total weight is 48,60kg (107,28lbs) vs (15mm BB total weight is 64,80kg (143,05lbs). Yes you need to make adjustments for thinner wood (15mm).

Do you think these tops might be good for PA use? Also, do you have frequency response plots or hornresp models of them?

P.s. stumbled on your youtube video while searching for drivers ;)

Shure are good for PA use with high sensitivity and controled dispersion, they are very flat. I will post new video to youtube in short time with new TH_1819 (just building the second one :)). The video will host two of the TH_1819s.

As I have said the second one is done now and great to see additional +6dB with second one, just have done SPL testing with one and than adding second one :)
