Default Placement of 3 subwoofers

Well I couldn't help myself.
I have a Yamaha YST-SW315, a 10" downfiring unit which seems like an OK subwoofer but I get standing waves in my room. I have tried everything and it was suggested to me from the Yamaha user manual that I needed another subwoofer, and to place them in the front corners of the room.

Well I won another one (they go pretty cheap on ebay) then saw ANOTHER one with a cheap buy it now, and so now I have three of them and was wondering where to place the third?? Or should I buy a fourth and place one in each corner?? I use them only for music in a two channel system with bookshelf speakers (containing a 6.5" woofer rolling off around 50hz).

First thing to do is get them out of the corners. That couples the sub to all the room modes (not good)

good luck,
revb.
