Default subwoofer idea, will it work?

I have a 2005 Ford Explorer and was thinking about building a "box" out of one of the storage areas in the cargo spot in the back. I took the measurements and had an idea for 2 12" Rockford Fosgate R2SD2-12. the Measurments are 45" wide, 21" long and the depth varies from 6" to around 3 1/2" to 9". the sub will fit, but I am not a professional so I do not know if the area is large enough? I can post pictures of the area if it will help?!

LxWxH will give you the volume.

Irregular shapes can be broken down into smaller boxes, then just add them up.

Once you have a rough volume, you can see if it suits your particular sub.

Fiberglass might be your best friend here for obtaining the most volume.
Look up how to lay down tape as a release then lay the mat over it to get the desired shape. It's not a quick (or clean) process but it will be a fun little project!
