A friend wants to put a subwoofer under the back seat of his pickup (6" height). I'm sure there a many sites out there for me to stumble upon, but I thought I'd ask you guys first.
Any ideas on where to start?

There are many places that make prefab Custom Subwoofer Enclosures for Specific Trucks. I have a truck too so I've been through Many sites with that same question.
The first question that really needs to be answered is what kind of music does he play rock, pop, hip hop, all of it? different genres each have certain bass qualities that some subwoofers produce better than others and some can produce all Very good. |

car audio, and invisible subs are typically a battle of fractions of an inch. However, nothing is impossible.
Model/Make/Year is extremely important to know. There is typically a forum for about any make of truck, and what others have done for audio. Following in other successful footsteps is probably the first place to start. However, don't get hung up on 'conventional wisdom' it's not always right. For example, I have an '01 quad cab tacoma. Shallow 6 1/2" subs is the accepted maximum that will work. Here's a JL 10" in a place where it's not supposed to fit. Last edited by jbell; 23rd January 2010 at 02:56 AM. |
