Have you priced Aeroports at your local car audio dealer?

It's 4" vent material with 2 flares with a radius of about 2" they work excellent for minimizing turbulence.

The postal tubes do seem like the cheapest option, although I wish they sold them singally instead of in packs. I have searched around car audio websites and I can find 6"ports but they only offer them in lengths of 150mm so I will still need to extend them with something. I could settle for two 4" flared ports but since I will need two of them it might work out quite a bit more expensive.

Well in my experience, I ended up using spare tubes in different projects, I got six 4" tubes, and two 8" tubes, and two years later they are all used.

You can just use a large router "round over" bit to make your flares for each end of the port.
