I was gifted this sub and I'm thinking of getting a box and a 300 watt rms, 8 ohm plate amp and using it in my two channel stereo/home theater setup. This is a sub intended for car use but can I use it for my home rig. Which type of enclosure would be best, sealed or ported? The spec sheet calls for one cubic foot of volume for sealed and two cubic feet of volume for ported. These are the volume specs for use in a car, would the volume specs for use in a room be different? It has a Qts of .58 and is a DVC and can be operated in either 2 ohms/8 omhs. Any advice, opinions, help will be greatly appreciated. My present home sub is a Paradigm PS-1000 10", 125 watt ported bandpass that I've been using since 1996.

You could put your driver into a ~133L closed box that return a ~f-3dB of ~34 Hz or IMO better to design an OD-TL enclosure: f-3dB=~21 Hz. b |
