Problem with KEF PSW1000.2 - Repair advice needed

Hi all,

My Kef PSW1000.2 sub woofer is making a loud buzzing sound with no sub output and is obviously unwell.

Can anyone advise if this can be repaired at home and what the problem may be?

step one. take it apart.
step two test the parts.

sorry, i'm sick today and feeling snarky.

take the driver out and disconnect it check that it moves in and out without any scraping sounds then use a multimeter to check the VC's Re. for a 4ohm driver it should be ~3.4ohms for a 8ohm driver ~6ohms. if that works out hook the amp to a known good driver and see if it works. I suspect the amp is shot, in that case you can get a replacement 100w amp for ~100$

A google search threw up a common C52 replacement. Do you think that'll do the trick?

C52 is capacitor C52. I replaced it along with C55 & C56 and all is now well!
