Here a bass transmission project, equipped with PD2150, mounted on a closed cabinet of 1800 liters (main part of cabinet is in the attic) - together with the vintage loudspeakers DQ10 (DQ-10) from Dahlquist - go to

Power amp for the PD2150 is the already present power amp Quad 405, for the Dahlquist is in use the Italian Brand "AES", model TWO and the preamp is the Quad 33 - I think. Compact Disc Player is the Denon DCD 1520 - go to

My first question is how in the hell did you get them up there?!? I have a new pair of them that I am still moving around and working to integrate into my main system and they are heavy!!! I don't have a firm opinion of mine yet but they are authoritative for sure.

How do you like yours?

four guys was helping for getting up there. Please note: this isn't my own audio system (go to my website for more examples).
And in this attachement an other sub woofer project with two of this transducers in a common chamber.
You don't often see that kind of subs. Very nice!
Any comment on the SQ?
What means the abbreviation "SQ" ?

Any measurements, especially on the one in the attic ?
How low can they go ?
Because I get still similar curvatures by all projects in this sizes (nearly perfect bandpass character) I don't save the acoustical measurement results in the last years.
The two cascaded subwoofer high-pass filter (subsonic) of the actice crossover unit (12db/oct) is adjustable between 10Hz and 30Hz (also adjustable between Tschebyscheff and Bessel), and the follow three cascaded 12 db Sallen-Key lowpass units are independend adjustable between 30Hz and 140 Hz.
This condition allows it, to get in most cases the wanted acoustical bandpass character.
By the system from post #1 the -6db cutoff frequencies are 18 Hz and 90Hz (acoustical slope at each roll-off end: 36db/oct).
When the acoustic environment is problematic (e. g. unwanted interfering peaks) an additional notch filter is necessary.
But until now I don't need such a thing.
BTW - I use since approximately 1993 until now the acoustical measuring system DAAS32NT from
http://www.adm-engineering.homepage.t-online.de/
Very important is the perfect designing of the high pass filter for the present loudspeakers (mostly passive, basicly two resistors, an inductor and 1-2 MKP capacitors). With help of my universal high pass filter and the CAD software "Bassyst" for me an easy task by all loudspeaker models, even large versions.
After doing this, you only need yet the mirror-image low-pass filter curvature adjust

I had to laugh when I opened the boxes of my PD2150's. It was a shock.

The speaker sitting on the back of the PD is a 12" JBL 2206, a 4" voice coil pro driver.

Looking at the picture of the room with six of these in it just makes me say wow.

This I have never see before and I want to know the theorie of operation from such thing.
Exist therefore a certainly term?

HaHa, sorry tiefbassuebertr;

It is never operated this way. I placed the JBL for a size comparison, just to show the immensity of the PD2150. Some people think a 12" woofer is a big speaker, just the motor assembly of the PD is almost the size of an entire 12" pro driver.

---thank you. Perhaps you can send a second foto from both cones.

What happens, if there is epuipped with PD2150 a complete wall side (distributed over the entire surface) and you look the movie "IRON MAN"
Iron Man - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
by full audio power (check out this in no circumstances) ??
This question comes up in me by check a sub-sat system last weekend with this movie.

Looking good!

Using manifold installation for IB sub makes room look even cleaner because whole sub will be outside of room. Installing elements at opposite sides of manifold makes elements forces to cancel each other and wall doesn't flex.

Or you can use concrete.:D

(still under construction)
Also good approach - thank you for sending this URLs
The term "INFINITE BAFFLE SUBWOOFER" (IB-SUB) was new for me and by google image search this is a very good keyword to find a lot of such constructions.

BTW - great work about

Viewed in terms of efforts similar like

The image supplements from that one of post #1 (from the 1500 liter chamber in the attic) I have order in the meantime by the user. If I have receice, I will post it here. In this case I try to find comparable concepts by other user's by the use of follow term (keyword by google):

"IB sub in the attic"

As an example I find this:
Sub in the attic? - AVS Forum
and this both:
http://home.comcast.net/~infinitelybaffled/page4IB-Gallery3.html
http://home.comcast.net/~infinitelybaffled/page2IB-Gallery.html
Are there basic articles about this kind of solutions ??

I ask this, because I miss the actually chamber (nearly free air condition and thus no wanted 24 db high pass filter character through certainly vented box alignment).
Basiclly I don't like 12 db high pass character in this frequency aera by the possibility for realizing large chambers. Only in case of low volume chamber the closed box 12 db character (and no vented box 24 db character) is to prefer from my view.
