JL 12W6V2 sub for home use

I have 12W6V2 lying around and i'm planning to use it for home theater (Sub of course).
Shall i use the enclosure as per JL recommendation or go for custom enclosure? Thanks in advance.

Hi,

You could go for Rec. closed box but f-3dB would be about 50 Hz...LT is possible.

The Rec. ported box for car is not adequate for HT home use because of a too small diam. port.

For home use a port size of~Sd/3 = OK.

See the first picture where the consequences are shown.

The main problem here is the very long port that if used without port-damping disqualifies for a good sub.
