I've gotten a hold of a set of speaker towers by a Canadian brand called "Reference Audio." Model number is "R82T". As far as my googling shows, there's just about no real info to be found on these.
Now the problem I have is that one of the woofers used to make this "clacking" sound when playing a deep bass on a moderate to loud volume. I figured the foam might have deteriorated so I took the grill off and had a look but the foam seemed fine. Stripped the foam of anyway and what I find is that any slight movement on the cone results in a softer, none-amplified clacking sound. I'm not sure if this is repairable or not any ideas? I think my best bet is just buying a new speaker (it's an 8") but I have no info on tech specs. Any idea what would fit the mold? or how to go about specing out what I'm dealing with here? |
