I am interested in high efficiency sub to use for music, not HT setup. (does not have to go to <40Hz...). Have a relatively large room and mainly listen to jazz and occasional classical music.
I will be driving my main speakers (likely high efficiency fullrange) with t-amp which is modified. Likely main speakers will need assistance below <100-150Hz. Is there a basic guide somewhere so I can buy a reasonable subwoofer (8" or less) design, and ?separate amp, crossover etc? thanks, gychang

The only problem is you can't make sure the speaker excursion isn't getting too silly... But try as I might (with 120w/ch), I haven't managed to get any bad sounds out.
