Default Simple question about WinISD - port length

Hi DIY'ers.
I've designed a box with WinISD pro alpha and it gives me a port length.
I've made the box with 22 mm wood and have cutted the place for the port. Does the 22 mm thickness counts as some of the port length? It's because I'm going to start the port from the inside of the box (It's a large square hole) to make it easier to make the port.
Hope my question makes sense... didn't now how to explain it.

Regards,

Simon H.A.

Greets!

Correct, subtract 22 mm from the total vent length. With a fixed design such as yours that's not easy to change, hope you used the projected power limit to sim with otherwise your vent may be way too small for good performance at high SPL and got the tuning close enough to perform well in room.

Thanks for you answer!
I'll think it will do fine since WinISD only says that my port will get to 17 m/s (Mach 0.05) at full power.

redo the simulation with the extra 22 mm added to the port, it may happen that it makes no major difference at all.

When I redo it, the simulation still have almost the same air velocity as before but my tuning frequency is of course way different. I can guess that you will still have to do a lot of testing when the cabinet has it's ports added ; )
