Default Dayton Woofer Tester?

just wondering if anyone knows.

if I use this to measure the specs of a driver thats already mounted in a box, will this give me an accurate impedance graph of what the amplifier would see at certain frequencies when playing music?

Just use the "Impedance Sweep" function to get what you're looking for.

Yup, the in-box measure tells you what you need to know from an impedance standpoint, and you can use the volume of the box (if it's small relative to the Vas of the driver) to calculate the Vas/Efficiency of the driver for modeling purposes, by comparing to a free-air sweep.

all I need to know is the in box impedance curve so I know if it'll be ok to load the amp down to a nominal 0.25ohm

thing is, every time I do an impedance sweep, I get massively varying results.

ranging from peaks to about 5 ohms, right up to 20 ohms!

also if I use it to measure the TS specs, mainly just to find the resonant frequency of the box, I get results between 24 and 28Hz... and it'll vary every time.

Are you standing in front of the driver or walking around the driver when testing? if so don't. Anything in front or behind the driver that will reflect sound will affect the results.

the box is in a car, repeat tests with the doors shut result in varying results...

I am however in the car with the woofers...
