I was given a the above sub. The box and sub itself appear to be flawless. The problem is it doesn't make any noise at all.
I have visually inspected the fuse and appears to be fine. I want the experience and the knowledge of how to fix this. I am assuming it's the powersupply or amp that's fried. Where can I get started tested and learning how to correct/ troubleshoot this issue? |

I have removed the Sub and the Amp and reattached all wiring. I dont think there is a power led on this unit because there isnt one lighting up and I dont seem to be able to find one anywhere on the box.
What are some testing methods for troubleshooting if its the driver or the amp? |

Do you have a multimeter?
To check the speaker, does it move freely when you push it in. if it sounds like it's grinding on something the vc is cooked. If you have a multimeter set it to ohms and check for continuity. 8ohm speakers should show about ~6ohms and a 4ohm speaker ~3ohm. To check the amp hook it to another speaker, anything with a 6" or larger driver in it will do. Using a 80hz sine or pink or white noise send some signal to the amp. (start with the gain set low) With the amp hooked up to the subwoofer you have. Hook everything up and (set the gain very low) slowly turn it up and see if any voltage is going to the speaker. set the multimeter to lowest setting V-AC.
